What We Do

The Rights and Responsibilities Class here at the Harley School is a strictly freshman-only course. Each trimester, a completely new group of ninth graders meets with the two teachers running the course, and begin to discuss. We talk about current events, laws, pending federal and state affairs, as well as what has happened in the past. Past classes have tackled racial issues, thrashing out an understanding, while others have discussed gun control, health issues in the USA today, and events recent at the time.

Our teachers, Mr. Hartman and Mr. O’Bryan, say, “We don’t hope that through discussion you get the same opinions; we hope that you can come to an understanding.”

We have started this blog to voice the opinions set forth by the educated young people of today, who are the leaders of tomorrow.
