Part of the beauty of having a fully operational workshop in the Commons is that students can work to fulfill identified needs in the community. Last year, the valiant members of the Upper School Design Thinking class built shoe shelves for outside the CMEE, make Adirondack seats for the playgrounds and tetherball court, and built the beautiful podium which now lives in the BCCE. This year, the class members have helped create the gaga court and are now working to improve Beckerman even more. This trimester’s class has been working on designing and building a sturdy, yet aesthetically beautiful table to go with the couches in Beckerman.
