There was great turn out at Washington Square Park in Rochester on the eve of Earth Day. Many local and regional organizations showed up to support efforts to curb climate change and to march in solidarity through downtown to help raise awareness about this urgent environmental need. Many members of the Rochester Youth Climate Leaders joined in the event, armed with signs and slogans. The event was organized through the Rochester People’s Climate Coalition with strong support from Mother’s Out Front. The event began with three passionate speakers who energized the crowd and offered attainable solutions. From there, the group walked down to the main library to sing and share with people driving home from work. For many of the students, this was the first rally or march they had ever attended, and they all agreed that it was enjoyable and a worthwhile effort.
