Become What Thou Art–by Larry Frye
This trimester, the 9th grade Rights and Responsibilities class worked with the community organizer and artist, Shawn Dunwoody. The passionate and energetic artist was recently in the news for his mural project at the Rochester Public Library. With Shawn, the class designed two musical and painted them as a class. The murals were placed on raised beds in a small garden in the JOSANA neighborhood. The image is from the class trip to install the murals on the beds. The garden is next to the local business College Club Beverages. The owners of the store, who are brothers, rewarded the students for their hard work by giving each of them a Fizz soda from their distribution center.
