Houston, we have lettuce…. Remember the hydroponic prototypes the 7th grade students made a while ago? Well, they voted on the designs that proved the most successful in terms of plant growth and they created full-sized working models. These vertical models are suspended from the balcony to the floor in the Greenhouse and are growing some delicious green leaf lettuce plants. In addition to the lettuce, the cherry tomatoes, yellow squash and basil continue to flourish, even though the sugar snap peas have been harvested and cleaned out. Feel free to stop into the Greenhouse whenever you are on campus to check out the thriving vegetation!
